A little bit about us
BACKGROUND
CMU, incorporated in 2008, is an independent underwriting agency and Coverholder at Lloyd’s that offers capacity supported by a range of ‘A’ rated Lloyd’s, London market and provincial insurers.
Although supported by an online trading platform, incorporating all the latest technology, we pride ourselves on offering a traditional underwriting service with designated underwriters being directly available to discuss more complex or unusual risks. We offer you competitive rates and healthy commission levels.
In July 2023 we were acquired by Nationwide Broker Services (NBS) Underwriting, as a result we now mainly specialise in Commercial Combined Insurance. All other lines of business are now being dealt with by NBS.

In the vast majority of cases our underwriters have authority to make immediate decisions without the need for further referral.
